Hi all. Thanks for setting this message board up, Ari! I've been wanting
a forum like this for years.

I've been playing guitar for 11 years, and acoustic blues for the last
six. I'm no Ari Essinger :-) but I really enjoy it. Like most of you,
I'm a big fan of Patton, all the Johnsons, Son House, Booker White, John
Hurt et al.

I also run BluesNet ( http://www.hub.org/bluesnet/ ) which might be of
some interest to people here. I focus mostly on early traditional blues
on my site.

I look forward to the discussions on this board.

Hello! Just checking out your new board. It looks great! I have a page
of blues links at http//members.aol.com/Jukebaby/bluz.html There's a TON
of links on this blues page. Check out THE SNAKE LADY for a story about
a North Carolina artist who played in the minstrel shows (and the
Midnight Rambles).

My father wrote songs back in the 1920's. He played guitar and banjo in
band in Coney Island. Searching for info on specific recording titled
"Make my cot where the cot cot cotton grows." Any info would be
appreciated.

I know of a version by the cheap suits serenaders on their second album (rereleased on disc by Shanachie I believe) for more information you could get in touch with Terry Zwigoff who I'm sure has the complete skinny on the 20s and 30s recordings of it.
