Subject: Robert Johnson quote
Message Number: 66

As part of his acceptance speech during the grammys, Bob Dylan quoted
Robert Johnson by saying: "the stuff we got will bust your brains out".
Johnson quote or Dylan poetic license?

Yup, it's a quote from "Stop Breakin' Down"...

"stuff I got will bust your brains out, make you lose your mind..."

Robert Johnson was both a passionate singer and a majestic guitar
player. The guy had a bad lifestyle but the way he conveyed his feelings
into the blues is amazing and though his songs musically sound the same,
each one sounds as different as the other. This last comment seems very
contradictory but if u listen to some of his sounds, they sound the same
but somehow each one has a different message and that makes it sound
different. They do bust your mind. This guy was the essence of the
blues. Music with feeling. He is the blues and will be the blues
forever. No electric guitar soloist can even convey so much passion as
Robert Johnson did and he did so with the acoustic guitar. We don't know
him well but through his music a picture can be formed. This guy made
the greats. And i want to play like him.
