Message Board Archive: Thread Number 145

Once a year we bring in an acoustic blues performer in the park where I
work. It's part of an African-American heritage program. We have made an
effort to stick with the older generation of Piedmont blues performers.
We have had the late Archie Edwards, John Jackson, Etta Baker, Cephas &
Wiggins, and Larry Johnson. Can anyone recommend any other nationally
recognized Piedmont or East Coast blues artists? I have heard the name
George Herbert Moore from North Carolina. Done anyone know anything
about him or any other older Piedmont players?

You can contact Mr. Moore @ 1-910-259-6042. That's in Burgaw, North
Carolina. He's very friendly. He plays down on the waterfront in
Wilmington, NC every Friday, he said.
