Subject: Question: Robert Johnson alternate takes "Traveling Riverside Blues"
Message Number: 115

I saw a newspaper article that refered to another take of "Traveling
Riverside Blues". Has anyone heard this recording? I mentioned this on
the 'Blues Highway' a little while back...

I've heard about this on blues-l. One of the contributors posted in the
not too distant past about having been played the alternate take over
the phone. As far as I know, there's no copy of the take on CD. Of
course, I'm in no position to know about the plans of Columbia or any
other recording company to release the take.
This, IMO, is much more interesting and significant than the film clip
that has sparked some much furor (and borderline wacky speculation...)
E-mail me privately and I'll forward you the e-mail address of the guy
who heard the take.
Frank
